I randomly came across this saw in a flyer. Sale ends tonight. I’m kind of tempted:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I’ve been wanting a mitre saw for a while now, and this one will supposedly do both wood and metal. All the better when it comes to eventually cutting the metal for a Locost frame. Reviews on several sites seem reasonable.
So... thoughts? Should I bite the bullet and get it

Metal vs wood comes down to the blade on it. All the saw does is spin the blade. Any saw can cut either with the right blade.
I can’t offer any advice on the model itself, but there’s definitely been times I wished I had a mitre saw. Cutting lumber with a reciprocating saw sucks.

I decided to pass on it - for now. Having just bought a house, I’m sure there are other expenses that are going to suddenly show up. Not that finances are that tight, but I have a hard time justifying spending money on essentially toys.
It seems like there’s a few other options out there for cutting metal miter cuts. Maybe eventually I’ll get one.

I have a small one, but just for wood. It was one of the first major woodworking tools I bought. Definitely a flexible tool.

Lethbridge. Southern Alberta. Lumpy44 is supposedly in the same town, although I have yet to see him in person.
How about you?

Neat. While I was on a mission for my church, I lived in Stoney Creek (south side of Hamilton) and Burlington. Certainly not a bad part of the country (except maybe Hamilton. :P).
